Development Background:
According to the national standardGB 11893-89, it specifiesthat under neutral conditions, potassium persulfate is used to digest the sample, and all phosphorus is oxidized to orthophosphate; under acidic conditions, orthophosphate reacts with ammonium molybdate, and in the presence of antimony salt, phosphomolybdic heteropoly acid is generated, which is immediately reduced by ascorbic acid to form a blue complex. The total phosphorus content is determined by spectrophotometry; simultaneouslythe standardHJ636-2012 specifies the determination of total nitrogen in water quality by alkaline potassium persulfate digestion UV spectrophotometry. The principle is that under 120-124°C, alkaline potassium persulfate converts nitrogen-containing compounds in the sample into nitrate, which can be measured by UV-visible spectrophotometry to determine the total nitrogen content. This instrument mainly references these two standards to achieve automated determination of total phosphorus and total nitrogen.
