Recently, Rongzhi Bio announced the completion of the construction of a microbial mass spectrometry database based on a new bio-omics concept. This is the first time in the world that a commercialized bio-omics microbial mass spectrometry database has been released. Traditionally, based on the significant differences in the composition of protein groups in different bacteria or fungi, especially ribosomal proteins, mass spectrometry testing of ribosomal proteomes can be used to quickly and accurately identify microorganisms. Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) is also used for this reason and is widely used in developed countries such as Europe and the United States, as well as my country's tertiary hospitals, provincial and municipal food safety regulatory agencies, etc. Mass spectrometry combined with this method is generally referred to as "microbial mass spectrometry" in the industry.
